Victory vs Defeat

“We should respect our Victories, rather than dwell on our defeats.”

by Dan T. Davis

How often do I say – If only I had done it another way, I would have been successful? Maybe rhetorical, but definitely a question to consider how this can focus on the negative instead of the positive.

On the other hand, how often do I celebrate my victories? More often, I say: “Accomplished, what next?” as if to say a victory is another checkmark off the To Do List. Thinking this thought, without regard to what victory meant for my life, and then moving on as if victory had little meaning. Never celebrating, never examining how this victory could change my life.

My life would be different if I sought out the positive and celebrated. My focus would change and I believe that would be good.
